1. A method of operating a mobile router, comprising a wireless wide area network interface to access a cellular network and a wireless local area network interface to provide access to devices for transfer of device data, said method comprising:
storing priority information, said priority information comprising priorities associated with corresponding predetermined types of download data downloaded via said wireless wide area network interface; selecting said priority information such that said data downloads of one or more predetermined types are assigned one or more corresponding lower priorities and a data transfer of said device data initiated by a device coupled to said wireless local area network interface is assigned a higher priority; storing data rate configuration information in association with said priority information; receiving download data via said wide area network interface; determining a download data priority of said download data from said priority information; determining if said device data is being transferred via said local area network interface; and controlling a data rate for said download data during the time that said device data is being transferred via said local area network interface based on said download data priority, and said data rate configuration information.
