PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve washing performance while maintaining usability.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: a water tub 3 in which a washing and dewatering tub 4 is arranged rotatably; driving means 7 which rotates the washing and dewatering tub 4; a circulation water passage 15 in which water in the water tub 3 passes during the rotation of the washing and dewatering tub 4; a receiving cover 16 which covers an upper part of the water tub 3 and the washing and dewatering tub 4, and which has an opening 16a for putting an object 25 to be washed into the washing and dewatering tub 4; and a discharge path 17 which discharges the water from the circulation water passage 15 into the washing and dewatering tub 4. A discharge port 18 of the discharge path 17 has a shape which is longer in the lateral direction and shorter in the height direction than a longitudinal cross-sectional shape of the discharge path 17. Thus, washing water or rinsing water is poured in the substantially entire range of the washing and dewatering tub 4, and the washing water or the rinsing water can be supplied to the object 25 to be washed in the washing and dewatering tub 4 uniformly. |
