The present invention provides a safety device which is mechanically configured to enable a light-wave oven to be operated safely. The safety device for a light-wave oven is equipped with: bottom glass with an opened top surface; a main bowl which has an opened bottom surface, is combined to the upper part of the bottom glass and forms a heating chamber, and has a mounting hole at the upper center; a main body which is mounted in the mounting hole and equipped with a heating lamp; and a handle which is installed to be rotated at the main body. The safety device also includes: a shaft which is elastically supported to enable its lower part to protrude from the bottom of a case of the main body, and moves upward when the main body is completely mounted on the main bowl; an actuation lever whose central axis is combined to the upper part of the shaft to be rotated and which has a first end part and a second end part at both sides of the central axis, respectively; and an actuation protruding part which is formed to be linked with the rotation axis of the handle, presses the second end part due to the forward rotation of the handle, and enables the first end part to get in contact with and turn on a switch. The switch for supplying power to the lamp can be turned on only after the shaft moves upward and the handle is rotated forward. |
