PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst converter capable of performing exhaust gas purification by effectively using the whole catalyst constituting the catalyst converter.SOLUTION: There is provided a catalyst converter 10 in which catalyst layers 2A and 2C composed of a noble metal catalyst is formed in the longitudinal direction of a substrate 1 through which gas glows in a cell wall surface of the substrate 1 of a cell structure, wherein the substrate 1 is constituted of a central region 1A having the highest cell density, an intermediate region 1B having next-higher cell density and a peripheral region 1C having the lowest cell density, in the length in the longitudinal direction of the catalyst layers in each region, the intermediate region 1B has a length longer than the central region 1A, the peripheral region 1C has a length longer than the intermediate region 1B, and the ratio of the length in the longitudinal direction of the catalyst layer in the central region 1A to the length in the longitudinal direction of the substrate 1 is 65% or more. |
