PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphenylene ether ether ketone having a high melting point and a high crystallinity and its production method.SOLUTION: A polyphenylene ether ether ketone having a melting point of 350°C or higher and a crystallinity of 50% or higher can be obtained by subjecting a cyclic polyphenylene ether ether ketone to heat ring-opening polymerization at a temperature of lower than 340°C and causing the residual cyclic polyphenylene ether ether ketone to react to a residual concentration of 5% or lower.
