PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an imaging method capable of optimizing the size of a cut-out area in captured image data.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 1 comprises a CMOS 110, an A/D converter 111, a gyro sensor 101, a camera signal processing circuit 112, and a vibration proof area change unit 107. The CMOS 110 and the A/D converter 111 generate captured image data by imaging. The gyro sensor 101 detects an angular speed generated by hand shake at the time of image capturing. The camera signal processing circuit 112 performs hand shake correction processing by moving the position of the cut-out area in the captured image data on the basis of the detected angular speed. The vibration proof area change unit 107 changes the size of the cut-out area in the captured image data on the basis of the detected angular speed. |
