<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic converter in which when a metal catalyst support is inserted in an external cylinder, defective deformation thereof can be suppressed.SOLUTION: A catalytic converter 1 includes a metal catalyst support 2 and a metallic external cylinder 3 that includes the same. The metal catalyst support 2 is that wavy and planar or large and small wavy metal foils are multiply wound in a superposed condition to form cells in a radial direction in a multistage manner, the metal foils are coated with a catalyst, and a concavity 4 that is hollowed in a radial direction is formed in an outer peripheral surface. The concavity 4 is formed by collapsing in a radial direction of two or more stage cells 2a, and a depth H of the concavity is made two or more times of a radial directional height h of one stage of these cells 2a.</p> |
