PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a source driver capable of generating a gate control signal that is compatible with a gate driver (GIP circuit or gate driver IC) having a different specification, while reducing a circuit scale.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal display panel 2 provided with a gate line and source line; a GIP circuit 6 that drives the gate line; and a source driver IC 3 that drives the source line. The source driver IC 3 includes a gate control signal generation unit that generates gate control signals SOUT1 to SOUTn for controlling the GIP circuit 6. The gate control signal generation unit is configured so as to be able to control the waveforms of the gate control signals SOUT1 to SOUTn by software.
