PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar lighting device which is inexpensive, is excellent in reliability and can sharply reduce loss of light.SOLUTION: A planar lighting device comprises: a light source 12; a light guide plate 11 on which the light source 12 is arranged along a first side edge surface 11A; an optical sheet arranged so as to be superimposed on at least light emission surface 11S of the light guide plate 11; and a fixing tape 13 having a cross-section bent in a channel-like shape with which the surrounding part of a second side edge surfaces 11B, 11C intersecting the first side edge surface 11A of the light guide plate 11 is covered together with the optical sheet and is stuck. The fixing tape comprises a double sided tape having one side surface that is white and the other side surface that is black. A sticking surface between the light guide plate and the optical sheet is set white. The optical sheet includes a light emission surface of the light guide plate and a reflection sheet arranged on a surface of the opposite side. The optical sheet includes a diffusion sheet arranged on the light emission surface of the light guide plate and a pair of prism sheets. |
