PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup roll-fixing structure capable of easily installing shaft ends of the backup roll to the upper and lower support members and capable of positioning the shaft ends of the backup roll to a line direction by fastening the shaft ends to the upper and lower support members.SOLUTION: A backup roll-fixing structure 10 is provided to the shaft ends 14 of both sides of backup rolls 13 contacting a work roll 12, and comprises the lower support members 16 having first recesses 15 into which the shaft ends 14 are fitted, and upper support members 18 having second recesses 17 into which a part of each shaft end 14 is fitted. The upper support members 18 are fastened to the lower support members 16 by screw mechanisms 19, 20. The first recess 15 each is a square groove, and the upper and lower slidable inclined faces 30 and 33 which contact each other are provided at one side in at least the line direction of the lower and upper support members 16 and 18. Each of the shaft ends 14 is pressed to each one part of the square grooves 15 by driving of the screw mechanisms 19, 20 to relatively move the members 16 and 18. Thereby, positioning of the backup rolls 13 is performed. |
