PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce collision noise and vibration generated in operating an electromagnetic clutch, in a rotation transmitting device in which engagement and disengagement of a two-way clutch are controlled by the electromagnetic clutch.SOLUTION: In a rotation transmitting device, a two-way clutch 10 and an electromagnetic clutch 50 for transmitting and blocking rotation from an input shaft 1 to an output shaft 2, are disposed in a housing 3 covering shaft end portions of the input shaft 1 and the output shaft 2, an armature 51 is attracted to a rotor 52 by energization to an electromagnet 53 of the electromagnetic clutch 50 to axially move a control retainer 16A forming the two-way clutch 10, and the control retainer 16A and a rotation retainer 16B are relatively rotated in the direction to reduce a circumferential width of a pocket 27 in accompany with the movement so that the pair of rollers 15 are engaged with or disengaged from an inner periphery of an outer ring 11 disposed on the shaft end portion of the output shaft 2 and an outer periphery of an inner ring 13 disposed on the shaft end portion of the input shaft 1. High rigidity portions H having high rigidity and low rigidity portions L having rigidity lower than that of the high rigidity portion H are alternately disposed on the housing 3 to reduce sound vibration generated in attracting the armature. |
