<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female connector in which contacts are provided asymmetrically, and a card edge connector.SOLUTION: A female connector 10 comprises a housing 25 in which a plurality of contacts 34 and 54 connected with a card member 11 including a card edge part 14 in which a plurality of card edge terminals 13 are formed on a substrate, and a contact housing part 31 are formed. The housing 25 includes flat openings 27 and 81 in which the card edge part 14 is inserted, at one side, an insertion port 75 at another side and internal spaces 28 and 82 which communicate with the flat openings 27 and 81 and in which the card edge part 14 is disposed, inside. The contact housing part 31 includes: a first contact housing portion formed over at least two stages at one side relative to the internal spaces 28 and 82 of the housing 25 and communicating with the insertion port 75; and a second contact housing portion formed on one stage at another side relative to the internal spaces 28 and 82 of the housing 25 and communicating with the insertion port 75.</p> |
