PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum insulating material and an insulating container capable of exhibiting sufficient heat insulating performance under various temperature environment.SOLUTION: A vacuum insulating material 10 includes an almost plate-like core material 11 and an external coating material 12 covering the core material 11, and is formed by decompressing an inside of the external coating material 12. The core material 11 is formed at least by laminating a fibrous structure layer 111 which is an assembly of a fibrous structure made of inorganic material, and a powdery structure layer 112 which is an assembly of a powdery structure made of clay mineral. In an insulating container, the vacuum insulating material 10 is preferably arranged in such a configuration that the fibrous structure layer 111 is on a low temperature side and the powdery structure layer 112 is on a high temperature side. |
