摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a 3D geometrical boundary from a set of images in a fixed scene (which may be present in an indoor environment or an outdoor environment) captured by a fixed camera under a varying illumination condition.SOLUTION: A set of non-negative illumination basis images representing a scene illuminated by a set of fixed light sources is restored from a set of input images of a scene captured by a fixed camera. The images are illuminated by a combination of light sources, and at least two images in the set are illuminated by different combinations. The set of input images is separated into a set of non-negative basis images and a set of index coefficients. Each illumination basis image corresponds an appearance of the scene illuminated by one of the light sources, and each index coefficient indicates contribution of one of the light sources to one of the input images.
