LOW COST PROCESS FOR PHASE CHANGE INK USING DRY FLUSHED PIGMENTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a dry flushed pigment, and a method of producing a phase change ink using the dry flushed pigment.SOLUTION: A method of producing a dry flushed pigment comprises the steps of: providing a dry pigment; and mixing a flushing agent with the dry pigment so as to disperse particles of the dry pigment into the flushing agent. The dry flushed pigment has at least 20 wt.% of the dry pigment. The flushing agent is stearyl stearamide wax. A phase change ink is produced by mixing the dry flushed pigment with an ink carrier, a dispersant and an optional synergist.
