PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a connection place of a small cross-sectional shield tunnel for constructing its outer shell part, when constructing the outer shell part of a large cross-sectional tunnel.SOLUTION: A tunnel boring machine 1 on the present invention is constituted so that a segment 11 can be respectively assembled in U-shaped segment assemblies 12 and 12 on its both sides so as a reinforcing intermediate wall 6 in a front space 5 close to a cutter head 2 among a segment assembly space 4, and the segment assemblies can be mutually connected by fitting a connection segment 21 in a separation space 31 for expanding between the opening ends of the mutually different segment assemblies 12 and 12 in a rear space when the segment assemblies 12 and 12 relatively move to a rear space 7 from the front space 5. |
