PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a varifocal lens capable of rapidly changing focal length.SOLUTION: A varifocal lens includes a monocrystalline electro-optical material with inversion symmetry, and a plurality of electrode pairs formed at opposing positions on a first surface of the electro-optical material and a second surface thereof opposite the first surface. Voltage is applied to the electro-optical material through external electrodes connected to the plurality of electrode pairs with a conductive adhesive, and a focal point of light exiting from the electro-optic material is varied by changing the voltage applied across the electrode pairs. |
