PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator for stably diffusing a positive ion and a negative ion without using a blower.SOLUTION: An ion generator 10 comprises: a needle-like positive electrode 1 for generating a positive ion by applying a positive voltage; a needle-like negative electrode 2 for generating a negative ion by applying a negative voltage; a control unit 6 for controlling voltage application to the needle-like positive electrode 1 and the needle-like negative electrode 2; and counter electrodes 3, 4 not enclosing the periphery of the needle-like positive electrode 1 or the needle-like negative electrode 2 on the same surface as a surface of a substrate 5 on which the needle-like positive electrode 1 or the needle-like negative electrode 2 is disposed. The counter electrodes 3, 4 are disposed sticking out to the surface of the substrate 5. |
