PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for hydrotreatment catalysts, which allows the hydrotreatment catalyst obtained thereby to have excellent desulfurization activity (hydrogenation activity), and to provide a method for producing the carrier for hydrotreatment catalysts, the hydrotreatment catalyst, and a method for producing the hydrotreatment catalyst.SOLUTION: The carrier for hydrotreatment catalysts comprises an alumina-based compound oxide and is characterized in that the acidic OH group-derived absorbance (OHper unit surface area of the carrier, which is measured by a transmission-type Fourier-transform infrared absorption spectrum measurement device (FT-IR), is within 0.04-0.10 mand the basic OH group-derived absorbance (OHper unit surface area of the carrier, which is measured by the FT-IR, is within 0.01-0.02 m. |
