PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide; an optical communication lens unit which can achieve highly accurate optical communication by securing good optical properties, can be made compact, and which has improved formability and assemblability, and consequently leads to reduction in the cost thereof; and a lens for use in the optical communication lens unit.SOLUTION: A holder 21 has a first engagement part on an inner peripheral surface thereof, and a lens 22 has a second engagement part on an outer edge thereof in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis. By engaging first engagement part with the second engagement part, the lens 22 is positioned in the optical axis direction with respect to the holder 21 without coming in contact with a substrate 12. When the second engagement part and the first engagement part are engaged with each other, energization force caused by elastic deformation of the lens 22 acts between the second engagement part and the first engagement part. As a result, no adhesive is required to fix the lens 22 to the holder 21. |
