PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus configured to prevent wrinkles from being formed on a belt when a cardboard passes through a fixing nip part, and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus includes a fixing roller 220(first pressure roller), a fixing belt 230 stretched on the fixing roller 220, a pressure roller 240 (second pressure roller) which applies pressure to the fixing roller 220 via the fixing belt 230 to form a fixing nip part 200 with the fixing belt 230, a tension adjustment part 175 which adjusts tension of the fixing belt 230, and a control unit 101 which controls the tension adjustment part 175 so as to increase tension of the fixing belt 230 as a basis weight of a recording sheet S to be inserted through the fixing nip part 200 increases. |
