PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosetting silicone resin composition that can be favorably used for the production of a silicone resin molded article filled with a large amount of an inorganic filler.SOLUTION: A thermosetting silicone resin composition for molding is provided, which comprises an addition curable liquid silicone resin, an inorganic filler, and a linear alkane having 12 to 16 carbon atoms. In a preferred embodiment, a molded article containing 600 parts by weight or more of an inorganic filler with respect to 100 parts by weight of a silicone resin can be produced by using the above thermosetting silicone resin composition. The molded article containing the above described amount of an inorganic filler can be suitably used for a substrate or a package for an optical element and/or an electronic element.
