PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel capable of improving detection accuracy while securing air-tightness of a fitting portion, and improving reliability by increasing a degree of freedom in design.SOLUTION: An inner periphery of an end portion of an outer member 2 is composed of an inner fitting face 16 to which a cap 14 is press-fitted, and a cylindrical small-diameter face 18 formed from the inner fitting face 16 with a diameter smaller than that of the inner fitting face 16 through a step portion 17. The cap 14 is press-fitted so that a tip of its fitting portion 14a is positioned at an outer side, a diameter-reduced portion 14c is formed on the tip of the fitting portion 14a through an inclined portion 14b, an elastic member 15 is joined in a state of wrapping around a tip of the diameter-reduced portion 14c from outer peripheral faces of the inclined portion 14b and the diameter-reduced portion 14c, and crimped to the small-diameter face 18 of the outer member 2 while elastically deformed, and the elastic member 15 and a magnetic encoder 13 are disposed on positions axially separated from each other. |
