PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable unit with a keyless function and a remote start function, which is high in safety even in the case of incorrect operation.SOLUTION: A portable unit includes: a change-over switch 13 for switching the unit from a keyless mode to a remote start mode; a command switch 14 for transmitting an operation command signal; and a control part 16 for controlling signal transmission on the basis of inputs from both of the switches. The control part transmits an operation command signal effective in the keyless mode when the command switch is operated during the keyless mode, transmits an operation command signal effective in the remote start mode and switches the unit to a reply standby mode when the command switch is operated during the remote start mode. When the command switch is operated before receiving a reply signal from a vehicle after being switched to the reply standby mode, no signal is transmitted from a transmission antenna and the unit is switched to the keyless mode, thereby canceling the operation of the command switch. |
