The present invention relates to a floating bead for water purification and a manufacturing method thereof. The floating bead for water purification has the shape of a ball and comprises a floating support, a photocatalyst, an inorganic adsorbing media and a crosslinking agent. The floating bead for water purification can increase the sunlight absorbing rate of the photocatalyst by floating on the surface of water polluted by the floating support, can maximize a water purification effect via the decomposition of organic matters by the photocatalyst and the adsorption of inorganic matters by the adsorbing media, and can enhance stability in water by strengthening the bonding force of the crosslinking agent.
