The invention relates to an optical element (6) for a vehicle light (1), comprising a light-incoupling surface (7) for coupling in the light emitted by a light source (3) of the vehicle light (1), and an outcoupling structure (8) which alters the directions of the incoupled light beams (L1, L2) such that an emission pattern is produced which differs from the emission pattern of the light emitted by the light source (3) of the vehicle light (1). The claimed optical element (6) is characterised in that the outcoupling structure (8) comprises a plurality of facet surfaces (9) which couple out light beams (L1, L2) at an emission angle beta that is a function of the specific angular orientation alpha of the facet surface (9), said facet surfaces (9) being arranged at different angles alpha to one another in a non-repeating pattern. |
