<p>The invention relates to a process for aqueous-suspension, microsuspension, emulsion or microemulsion polymerization of at least one halogenated, in particular chlorinated, monomer, for example vinyl chloride, alone or with one or more other vinyl monomers, preferably less than 50% by weight of one or more other vinyl monomers, in which at least one polymerization short-stopper and at least one perhalogenate, as bleaching agent, are added. The invention also relates to the use of a combination of at least one polymerization short-stopper and at least one perhalogenate, as bleaching agent, in reactions for polymerization of halogenated monomers.
