The present invention relates to an apparatus for managing blood transfusion information, which is capable of collectively managing blood transfusion information for each patient so as to easily issue blood transfusion orders and of systematically conducting blood transfusion orders, and to a management method thereof. According to the present invention, an apparatus for managing blood transfusion information based on an electronic medical record system includes: a blood transfusion information unit which stores one or more among blood transfusion history information, blood transfusion preparation information, and blood transfusion order history information; a blood transfusion management control unit which checks information included in the blood transfusion information unit, and controls a blood transfusion order issuing job; and a blood transfusion information display unit which displays the checked blood transfusion history information and blood transfusion preparation information, and displays the contents of an input order.
