PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which has a good appearance of the film manufactured into a roll shape and no degradation in display performances even when the film is thin, which has a high Knoop hardness and thereby achieves a high pencil hardness even when a hard coat layer is formed thereon, and which gives no display unevenness when assembled in a liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: An optical film comprises a cellulose acylate film that has a film thickness of 15 to 45 μm and contains at least cellulose acylate and an aromatic ester oligomer having repeating units derived from dicarboxylic acids and repeating units derived from diol. In the repeating units derived from dicarboxylic acids, when a molar ratio of repeating units derived from aliphatic dicarboxylic acids and a molar ratio of repeating units derived from aromatic dicarboxylic acids are denoted by m and n, respectively, m:n ranges from 0:10 to 3:7. The cellulose acylate film satisfies an expression of |Rth(590)|≤50 nm. |
