<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device which can minimize a space necessary for character input and can correctly input each character in accordance with a user's intention.SOLUTION: A character input device includes: a base; an input part provided for the base; a first sensing part for sensing movements of the input part; a second sensing part for sensing second direction input; and a control unit which extracts from a memory part a second character assigned to a second direction instruction position where a first character assigned to a first direction instruction position where movements of the input part are sensed or the second direction instruction position where the second direction input is sensed. The input part is provided with first direction input which moves to one of a plurality of first direction instruction positions radially separated and arranged around a reference position from the reference position within a prescribed input radius and the second direction input which selects one of a plurality of second direction instruction positions radially separated and arranged in the input part itself so that the two inputs can be independently performed.</p> |
