<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation device that is inexpensive and has a simple configuration having excellent separability of a recording medium and does not affect image quality.SOLUTION: A separation device separates a recording medium fed out from a nip part formed by two rotating bodies from an opposing rotating body, of the two rotating bodies, opposing to an image surface of the recording medium, and includes: a separation member that is arranged to the opposing rotating body with a gap; a support member that supports the separation member via a position adjustment mechanism; and a contact member that is included in the support member, disposed at a position corresponding to both end areas in the rotation shaft direction of the opposing rotating body and the outside of a maximum image area, and is brought into contact with the opposing rotating body. The separation member includes at least one recess on the downstream side in a direction of travel of the recording medium, and the recess has a recessed shape in a direction to separate from a recording medium guide surface; and the position adjustment mechanism includes a guide member that is connected with the recess and the support member so as to adjust and fix the position of the separation member and cover the at least one recess.</p> |
