The present invention relates to a ferrite compound for magnetic refrigeration manufactured by partial non-magnetic substitution of ubiquitous magnetic metals and to a coolant for magnetic refrigeration at room temperature including the same. The ferrite compound for magnetic refrigeration can be used as a coolant in a magnetic refrigeration technology, which is receiving spotlight as an eco-friendly technology alternative to a vapor compression approach, which is considered to be a major contributor to global warming. The ferrite compound according to the present invention can be usefully applied in developing eco-friendly refrigerating, freezing and cooling devices such as eco-friendly refrigerators and air conditioners using the magnetic refrigeration technology at room temperature as the ferrite compound exhibits a relatively low Curie temperature, excellent low-temperature magnetization, maximum magnetic entropy changes and relative cooling power (RCP).
