PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress, in a cooling tower, precipitation of a high-boiling material and to suppress occurrence of adhesion of stains on the cooling tower wall and clogging of pipes.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a conjugated diene comprising the steps of: obtaining a product gas containing a corresponding conjugated diene by subjecting a raw material gas containing a monoolefin having 4 or more carbon atoms and a molecular oxygen-containing gas to an oxidative dehydrogenation reaction in the presence of a catalyst; and cooling the product gas by introducing the product gas obtained into a cooling tower and letting the same contact with a coolant. The cooling tower contains a tower bottom liquid at the tower bottom, and the tower bottom liquid flows swirling along the cooling tower wall. |
