[Class 44] [Also in Group XXVIII] In securing the cover of a vacuum cleaner, a lever 47 acting through a link 81 depresses a triangular &c. plate 84, the link being pivoted to projections 85 on the plate. The plate presses by springs 91 on guided latches 89 which are thus pressed outwardly and tilted upwardly to engage slots in members 105. The cover plate 95 on which the latches 89 bear and which is secured to the cover 100, is thus drawn tightly against the packing 34 of the dust bag 35.</p> |
