A method for treating an inflammatory disease selected from the group consisting of sepsis, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, nephritis, gingivitis, and periodontal disease, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof one or more effective ingredients selected from the group consisting of adenosine N1-oxide, adenosine N1-oxide 5′-monophosphate, adenosine N1-oxide 5′-diphosphate, adenosine N1-oxide 5′-triphosphate, 3′-α-glucosyl-adenosine, and 5′-α-glucosyl-adenosine.
