The present invention relates to an electrically-conductive layer of a touch screen. The electrically-conductive layer is a mesh constituted by metal wires. The mesh comprises several mesh units. Each mesh unit comprises several mesh edges and junctions formed by interconnection of adjacent two mesh edges. The electrically-conductive layer comprises an induction area and a lead area that is electrically connected to the induction area. The induction area comprises first induction patterns and second induction patterns. The first induction patterns and the second induction patterns are adjacent to and insulated from each other. The mesh units in each first induction pattern are electrically connected to each other. The mesh units in each second induction pattern are electrically connected to each other. The present invention also relates to the touch screen. The electrically-conductive layer of the present invention employs a metal mesh structure and can be manufactured by using an imprinting technique, and, compared with a conventional process that uses an ITO film as an electrically-conductive layer, the shape of the mesh can be formed in one step, the process is simple, and the yield is high. Also, by replacing ITO with metal, material costs are greatly reduced, and, because the need for using an etching process is obviated, wastage of electrically-conductive layer material is avoided, while heavy metal discharge in effluent is reduced.
|
