<p>PURPOSE: A sintered friction material and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to remarkably improve the abrasion resistance of the material compared to a conventional sintered friction material. CONSTITUTION: A sintered friction material is produced by sintering a composition formed with 3~5 parts of Mg2Si by weight for 100 parts of sintering material by weight. The sintering material contains 15~20wt% of Fe powder, 4~5wt% of SiO_2 powder, 9~11wt% of graphite powder, and the balance of copper alloy. A manufacturing method of the sintered friction material comprises the following steps: mixing raw materials containing the composition of the sintered friction material; putting the mixed material to a mold; obtaining a molded material by applying pressure; and sintering the molded material at 900~1,100 deg C for 1~3 hours at a vacuum furnace.</p> |
