A method of processing a heterogeneous material, comprising entraining heterogeneous particles into a fluid stream, each of the heterogeneous particles comprising a liquid portion and a solid portion; passing the fluid stream through at least one adjustable nozzle; and impacting the fluid stream to dissociate the liquid portion of the heterogeneous particles from the solid portion of the heterogeneous particles.
