PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detection device capable of preventing a deterioration of the filter performance and continuously detecting a detection object gas and an operation method thereof.SOLUTION: The gas detection device includes: filters 11, 21; a sensor part 2; two introduction lines 10, 20 for introducing a gas; first introduction means for introducing the gas to the sensor part 2; second introduction means for introducing the gas to the introduction line and discharging the gas without allowing it to pass through the sensor part 2; and cleaning means for passing the cleaning gas in a direction reverse to the gas introduction direction to the filters 11, 21. When the gas is introduced to one introduction line by the first introduction means, the cleaning gas or the gas by the second introduction means is introduced to the other introduction line. The gas detection device further includes: first switching means for switching the introduction line for introducing the gas to the sensor part; and second switching means for switching between the introduction of the cleaning gas and the introduction of the gas by the second introduction means in respective introduction lines. |
