PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique in which a relief (engraving shape) of a printing plate is determined by considering plate deformation according to the printing pressure distribution so that an excellent image reproduction can be attained on a medium to be printed.SOLUTION: A platemaking method in which a relief is formed based on relief pattern data on a printing plate pressed against a medium to be printed comprises: a step (S10) which estimates printing pressure distribution of a printing plate pressed against the medium to be printed on the basis of image data; a step which calculates correction amount of engraving shape data (relief pattern data) on the basis of the printing pressure distribution; a step (S11) which corrects the engraving shape data on the basis of the correction amount; and a step (S12) which obtains exposure amount data from the corrected engraving shape data. An exposure (engraving) processing is performed by using the exposure amount data, thereby forming the relief on the printing plate considering plate deformation according to the printing pressure distribution so that an excellent image reproduction can be attained on the medium to be printed. |
