Provided is a mobile telephone which can determine whether the device itself can control an input device, when connected to said input device via a communication interface. If it is determined the the mobile telephone itself cannot control the input device, a request to control the input device is issued to the server connected via a wireless communication network. In order for communication to be established between the input device and the server, enabling the input device to be controlled by the server, signal transfer between the input device and the server via a communication interface and a wireless communication network is controlled. The server controls the input device by communication established with the input device in response to a request from the mobile telephone.
