PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit traveling of an elevator when a worker is present in a hoistway of the elevator so as to enable a safe maintenance operation.SOLUTION: A maintenance operation device 12 for performing traveling control of an elevator during a maintenance operation comprises: a positional information acquisition part 12f for acquiring a positional information of the maintenance operation device 12; a storage part 12e for storing a positional information on an off-limits range for a maintenance personnel during traveling of the elevator in a building where the elevator is installed; a control part 12b for reading out the positional information of the off-limits range in the vicinity of the maintenance operation device 12 from the storage part 12e; a radio communication part 12g communicating with a communication terminal 15 for acquiring the positional information indicating the position of the maintenance personnel and transmitting the information to the maintenance operation device 12; and a control part 12b for determining whether or not the positional information acquired by the maintenance operation device 12 or the positional information received from the communication terminal 15 is included in the positional information on the off-limits region and when either positional information is included, inhibiting the traveling of the elevator.
