The invention relates to a single-stage method for the purification of a (blood) plasma protein from a mixture containing said (blood) plasma protein, comprising the steps of applying the (blood) plasma protein to a sorbent, which comprises a solid carrier material the surface of which is functionalized with pyridino-4-carboxamide groups and 3-carboxamidopropionic acid groups, and eluting the (blood) plasma protein from the sorbent. The present invention provides a simple and inexpensive method for the purification of such (blood) plasma proteins, the method being characterized by the additional advantage of a substantially complete removal of factor XI and factor XIa from the (blood) plasma protein. |
