摘要 The invention relates to an explosion-protected housing having a monitoring device and a method for monitoring an explosion-protected housing. According to the invention, the interior pressure (PI) in a housing interior (11) of the housing (10) or a differential pressure (PD) between the interior pressure (PI) and an environmental pressure (PU) in the environment (12) outside of the housing (10) is detected via a pressure sensor (15) or (15a). A corresponding sensor signal (SI, SD) is transmitted to a monitoring device (16). The monitoring device (16) evaluates the chronological progression of the sensor signal (PI, PD). A temperature signal (ST) of a temperature sensor (21) can optionally also be transmitted to the monitoring device (16). According to the invention, the monitoring device (16) can determine from the sensor signals whether there is sufficient tightness of the housing interior chamber (11) from the environment (12), particularly in respect of whether the tightness meets the prerequisites of the "fume safety" type of protection. The evaluation is made during operation of the electrical and/or electronic operating means (13) in the housing (10), so that separate, additional maintenance for inspecting sufficient tightness of the housing (10) can be omitted.
