The invention relates to a single-stage method for the purification of a (blood) plasma protein from a mixture containing said (blood) plasma protein, comprising the steps of applying the (blood) plasma protein to a sorbent, which comprises a solid carrier material the surface of which is functionalized with benzopyrrole groups and 3-azepyrrole groups, and eluting the (blood) plasma protein from the sorbent. The method is especially suitable for removing blood constituents such as IgA, IgM and factor XI and factor XIA which are bound to the sorbent while the (blood) plasma protein to be purified does not bind to the sorbent or only slightly binds to the sorbent. It is possible to purify the product in a simple flow through step while achieving high yields and degrees of purity with high loading capacities. |
