<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which erroneous detection occurs when detecting a transparent printing medium placed on a belt-like member having a suction hole by a reflection type photosensor.SOLUTION: An image forming device includes a medium sensor 51 comprising a reflection type photosensor for detecting a printing medium 2 on a side surface of a carriage 13. A reflection member 52 is arranged for reflecting light made incident from the medium sensor 51 passing through a suction hole 21a at a fixing portion inside a protection belt 21. Presence/absence of a transparent tape 202 on the protection belt 21 is determined by comparing a sensor output of the medium sensor 51 with a medium presence/absence reference value determined in advance. Reflectance of the reflection member 52 is the reflectance in which, in a state where the transparent tape 202 is not present on the protection belt 21, the sensor output at the time when reflection light at the position of the suction hole 21a is received is smaller than the medium presence/absence reference value, and in a state where the transparent tape 202 is present on the protection belt 21, the sensor output at the time when the reflection light at the position of the suction hole 21a is received is equal to or more than the medium presence/absence reference value.</p> |
