Provided is a production method for sealed batteries by which it is possible to vent gas generated during initial charging without increasing the number of steps therein. This production method is a process for producing a battery equipped with a battery container (30) which has an opening section (33) and a power generating element (20) which is housed in the battery container, and involves: a step for housing, within the battery container, an electrode body provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator; a step for injecting an electrolytic solution within the battery container through the opening section and making the electrode body a power generating element; a step for temporarily sealing the opening section of the battery container by means of a film (120); a step for performing initial charging of the power generating element; a step for releasing the temporary seal by piercing through the film provided on the opening section while introducing a tracer gas (He) within the battery container by means of a sealed nozzle (140) inserted into the battery container through the pierced spot in the film; and a step for permanently sealing, by means of a permanent sealing member (40), the opening of the battery container having helium (He) introduced into the interior thereof. |
