An objective of the present invention is to provide an endoscope device which is capable of obtaining an easily observable image while achieving further miniaturization. To this end, the endoscope comprises: an image capture unit (9) which is provided with multiple image capture elements (31, 32) and an optical path splitting means (34) for splitting a light beam which enters via an objective lens (33) and guiding same to each of the multiple image capture elements, the image capture unit (9) being configured such that the optical path lengths (OLP1, OLP2) for the multiple light beams for guiding to the multiple image capture elements are made different from one another; a contrast comparison means (43) for comparing contrasts of multiple images based on multiple image signals which are outputted from each of the multiple image capture elements; and an image selection means (20) for selecting and outputting only the image signal from one of the multiple image capture elements on the basis of the result of the comparison by the contrast comparison means. |
