A registration method and system for a common service entity (CSE) relate to the field of machine type communication, and solve the problem that a CSE registration mechanism cannot implement an application interaction function. The method comprises: an initiator CSE sending a CSE resource creation request message to a receiver CSE; the receiver CSE detecting whether a resource corresponding to an identifier of the initiator CSE exists locally; the receiver CSE creating a resource for the initiator CSE when no resource corresponding to the identifier of the initiator CSE exists locally, setting a resource name according to the identifier of the initiator CSE, using a type of the initiator CSE as an attribute and storing it, and generating a CSE resource creation response message indicating that the resource is successfully created; and the receiver CSE sending the CSE resource creation response message to the initiator CSE. The technical solutions provided in embodiments of the present invention are applicable to an M2M communication network, and implement registration between CSEs. |
