PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle hood structure and a striker reinforcement material that can enhance strength and rigidity in the vicinity of a striker and secure pedestrian protection performance and that can be manufactured relatively inexpensively.SOLUTION: Since aluminum extruded shapes are used for a striker reinforcement material 4, a plurality of wall thicknesses can be formed on one component, so as to optimize a wall thickness of a cross section. Thus a striker connection part 5 is formed to have a thickness required for strength, so as to secure rigidity and strength in the vicinity of a striker 7. At least a plate thickness in a region where deformation occurs at the time of a collision with a pedestrian's head of a joining leg part 6 joined to an outer panel 2 or a dent reinforcement material 9 is made thinner than that of the striker connection part 5, so as to facilitate bending and deformation. Thus an increase in acceleration at the time of the collision with the pedestrian's head can be suppressed, so as to secure pedestrian protection performance. |
